Hello iTournament users, Sorry for the long delay in the updates of the app. I've been very busy for the last couple of months I haven't had enough time to update the free app. I need to earn some money to keep the website and the iOS developer program subscription running. I've had a few feedbacks from users and have taken this in consideration. So I am now very busy updating the app to render the generated fixtures into a manageable brackets and be able to save it in PDF so you can print it straight from your iPhone! So hold on tight and I this should be available in the next couple of weeks. bfn

Hello sports enthusiasts and tournament organisers. I hope that you find this app useful. I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your iTunes Store app reviews as this would greatly improve the product and encourage me to develop more free apps at your disposal! Also pleas donate any generous amount to my paypal account on the donate button as I have maintenance costs with apple to upload and market my apps including iTournament.

I've actually read this book a few months back but only got the chance now to sit down and write a review about it. Ok, iOS 4, iPad and iPhone 4 are now all out. First question is, is this book still relevant? Absolutely. If there is a newer edition to this one, with the newest iOS 4 updates get it. If not, it is still worth spending the £17 you pay for it. Although it would be nice to get more in-depth with the newer iOS 4 features like blocks which are the lambda versions on .Net. They would have been more convenient when writing fetched queries and manipulating the predicates.

The RSS news reader for the iTournament app is live now. Needless to say the RSS feeder is also live which entails a adding a new blog type in the CMS of my blog site. I'm actually testing the live icon glow that updates the menu icon on the iPhone app when a new blog has been inserted. How cool is that?

I'm currently developing the RSS reader for the iPhone iTournament application. It basically uses the NSXMLParser and defining the delegates to parse the elements of the RSS document. I have also added the new blog type in my website to specifically filter iTournament blogs for this purpose.

iTournament
It's been a couple of months since I've launched my first iPhone app in the iTunes store. And now, I've created the iTournament app. This app is a fixture generator for tournament organizers using round robin, single and double* elimination with customizable location count as an added variable. It also manages your tournament progress with reports, statistics and match progress. I will be releasing further updates to this app including bracket rendering for the single and double elimination, matrix rendering for the round robin. More exciting features will be added to the app and this is all yours for FREE! I do have a donate button so for those of you kind enough to think this app is useful to you please feel free to donate whatever amount you can give me. I write these apps from my own time and don't get paid for it. I also have to pay costs to the Apple Developer Program annually in order to release any apps in iTunes. Anyhow, happy gaming and I hope you like my latest installment in the apple app stack.

jQuery
Thought I would create a new projects tab to the site as I have been accumulating a couple of them of late. It basically contains the current porting of the Cookie Jar puzzle to the iPhone and jQuery. I have also updated the page for the iPhone version to include some player related statistics including user search and relative scores.

iPhone
This iPhone app is long overdue. But hey, better late than never. Apple has approved my Cookie Jar application to be sold for free at the iTunes Store last night and there has already been 126 downloads mostly from the USA, Canada and even one in Mexico. The North American reviewers are not afraid of voicing their opinions as the app has already had 5 ratings of which averaged 3 stars. Hmmm. Anyway, the link to the App Store for download is: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cookie-jar/id366840327. I also setup a separate global score board on this site which also serve as a support page. iPhone
I had a hectic January as I was moving to Manchester City Center. This moving business is pretty stressful especially when one has accumulated at least 35 boxes full of junk. It's now February and I have finished the Beginning iPhone Development book and feel the confidence in building applications for the iPhone. This is perfect timing as the new iPad SDK is also out now, and a new gold rush for iPad applications is taking place. Last month I also registered for the iPhone Developer Program which basically means I can test and deploy my applications to the iTunes Store. Exciting times.
